Fallout 76: Power Armor Chassis Locations (2024)

Power Armor has been a part of the Fallout franchise since the very beginning. In Fallout 76, a full set of top-tier Power Armor can help to turn any Vault Dweller into a wasteland warrior. Power Armor boasts great damage resistances, it prevents the player from receiving fall damage, and the modification options are almost endless.

There are two groups of players in Fallout 76: those who use regular armor and those who use Power Armor. While Power Armor is more expensive to maintain than regular armor, the extra resistances that comes with it is more than worth the cost.

Power Armor Chassis Locations: Forest Locations

Players who are relatively new to Fallout 76 may want to stick to the Forest region during the early stages. The Forest region is a low-level area. While enemies can still be pretty tough, the events and missions in this area can be pretty rewarding. There are lots of Power Armor Chassis in this region.

• The Crosshair: Right at the back of the area, close to the door.
• WV Lumber Co.: Inside the two-story building on the eastern side.
• Point Pleasant: On the roof of the hardware store.
• Gorge Junkyard: Inside a green truck trailer behind a skill 3 lock.
• Morgantown Trainyard: Next to the Trainyard building. In the railcar with a crane over the top.
• Mama Dolce's Food Processing (Underground Base): Head into the base under the Food Processing plant. Inside, there's a Power Armor Chassis behind a locked door. The door is a skill 0 lock, and there's a skill 1 lock on the Terminal.
• Behind Mama Dolce's Food Processing: Inside a booby-trapped warehouse southwest of the Food Processing plant.
• Aaronholt Homestead: Inside a shed with a skill 1 lock on the door.
• Arktos Pharma: Behind a skill 0 door on the third floor of the loading dock area. (There's another Power Armor Chassis in the flora research section in the Biome Lab).
• Cliffwatch: On the outside of the raider base on the northwest side.
• New River Gorge Bright West: Behind a locked door at the end of the bridge. The key to unlock the door is located in Camden Park.
• Wade Airport: Inside the hanger, north of the control tower. (There's another inside a blue trailer at the south end of the runway. It is behind a skill 2 locked door).
• Hornwright Industrial Headquarters: In the basem*nt. It can be obtained during The Motherlode quest.
• Poseidon Energy Plans WV-06: In the basem*nt, behind a locked security cage in the workroom. The door to open it is a skill 2 lock.
• Silva Homestead: Located between Silva Homestead and Billings Homestead. Inside the large metal building near a silo.
• Kanawha Nuka-Cola Plant: Through a door on the left side of the loading dock.

Power Armor Chassis Locations: Toxic Valley

The Savage Divide is spread across the top section of the map. While it doesn't look very hospitable, it's not particularly dangerous. There aren't as many Power Armor Chassis locations as there are in the forest, but there are still a few places that spawn them:

• South of The Crater: Near an observation shack on the top of the cliff southeast of The Crater.
• Black Bear Lodge: Inside the shed on the western side of Black Bear Lodge.
• Clarksburg: On the top floor of the tallest building in Clarksburg. It is located in the southeast part of town.
• Grafton Dam: Inside a shed on the west side of the dam.
• Eastern Regional Penitentiary: Inside the shed in the prison yard.

Power Armor Chassis Locations: Savage Divide

Along the east side of the map, there's a train track that runs down the whole map. This area is known as the Savage Divide region. While it is a rocky region, provided you follow along the train track, it's a pretty easy area to traverse.

• Converted Munitions Factory: Behind a skill 1 locked door in the basem*nt.
• Sunnytop Ski Lanes: On the bottom floor next to the stairs to the lobby.
• Ammo Dump: You can see it as soon as you load in. Right in the center of the Ammo Dump.
• Sons Of Dane Compound: In the basem*nt of the house on the western side of the area. It's behind a skill 3 lock or Terminal.
• Metal Dome: On the Power Armor Station near Initiate Pappas.
• Hopewell Cave: In a bus in front of the cave entrance.
• Monogah Power Plant: In the loading dock room inside the main building.
• Seneca Gang Camp: Next to the lookout tower.
• Wendigo Cave: Inside the cave, follow the path to the right.
• Pleasant Valley Cabins: In the middle of the makeshift arena.
• New Appalachian Central Trainyard: Inside the main building. It is next to the train car with "USA" written on it.
• Middle Mountain Cabins: In front of the central cabin.
• National Isolated Radio Array: In a side room at the back of the barn. It's behind a door with a skill 2 lock.
• Blackwater Mine: Inside the building to the right.
• Emmett Mountain Disposal Site: Inside the disposal tunnel. There's a Power Armor Chassis inside a security cage in the mechanical room.
• Solomon's Pond: On the Power Armor Station next to the industrial equipment.
• Ripper Alley: Toward the back of the base.
• Huntersville: Behind the barn with military tents in front of it.
• Lucky Hole Mine: Behind a chained door just inside the mine.

Power Armor Chassis Locations: Ash Heap

Low-level players should be careful in the Ash Heap region. The air in this region is toxic. You should always wear a mask or helmet that will prevent you from catching any airborne diseases.

• Camden Park: Inside the frame of the big roller coaster in the middle of the park.
• Beckley: Behind the southern makeshift wall next to the road.
• Belching Betty: Inside the Fire Breathers Shack, near Bernie.
• Abandoned Mine Shaft 6: In a warehouse next to a green truck directly north of Abandoned Mine Shaft 6.
• Abandoned Mine Shaft Elaine: Between the locker room and a bus.
• Rollins Labor Camp: On the west side of the trailer buildings.
• Mount Blair Trainyard: On the first floor inside the main trainyard building.
• Red Rocket Filling Station: Behind the orange fuel containers on the northern side.
• AMS Testing Side: In the back of the rounded building. Two possible spawn points.
• Striker Row: Right in the southeast corner towards the top of the hill.
• Lewisburg Station: Next to a derailed boxcar.
• Big Bend Tunnel: Behind a locked door halfway down the tunnel. Key required. But you can jump up and over using the Marsupial Mutation.
• Garrahan Mining HQ: In the same area as the Miner Miracles side quest. It is in the R&D Department area of the building.
• Hornwright Estate: Up the lift, behind a skill 2 locked door.

Power Armor Chassis Locations: The Mire

The Mire is a dangerous area. It's filled with tough enemies like Anglers, Mirelurks, and Mirelurk Queens, and deadly Glowing Ghouls. Low-level players should proceed with caution.

• Thunder Mountain Power Plant: Through the loading dock on the northeast side of the main building.
• Dolly Sods Wilderness: Near a firepit southeast of the eastern cabin.
• Crevasse Dam: Inside the trailer next to the stone buildings. It's behind a skill 2 lock.
• Dryer Chemical Sewers: Entrance to the building granted during the Tracking Unknowns quest.
• Sunday Brothers' Cabin: Inside the barn next to the main house.
• Big B's Rest Stop: Behind the main building.
• Camp Venture: On one of the Power Armor Stations in the southeast corner of the camp.

Power Armor Chassis Locations: Cranberry Bog

The Cranberry Bog region is the toughest region in the game. It is home to the first nuked event: Scorched Earth. It's filled with robots, Scorched, and lots of Scorchbeasts.

• Kerwood Mine: At the end of an underwater tunnel inside the mine. The Chassis is located in the biggest dry area.
• Firebase Major: Next to the broken-down jeep.
• Firebase LT: Outside the tent on the eastern side.
• The General's Steakhouse: Inside the garden shed to the west of the main building.
• RobCo Research Center: In the Robotic Research Wing. (Two spawn points).
• Bootlegger's Shack: The western wall, behind a truck.
• Quarry X3: At the end of the road next to a trailer.
• Fort Defiance: On the fourth floor, on one of the Power Armor Stations. You will need to have completed the Recruitment Blues quest.
• Big Bend Tunnel East: In the Brotherhood Compound outside the tunnel.
• Lost Home: Inside the biggest shack.
• Firebase Hanco*ck: Between the trailer buildings.
• Watoga: A total of 6 locations in the Watoga area and nearby buildings. The easiest one to find is located next to the broken Vertibot.
• Survey Camp Alpha: Under a large canopy.
• Drop Site V9: Just outside the building.
• Forward Station Delta: In the middle of the compound.

Use Power Armor Chassis For Holding Scrip

As you play, you'll find yourself becoming weighed down by Scrip. Since players can only hold up to 1200lbs in their Stash Box, good weight management is a must. Luckily, Power Armor Chassis can help to reduce some of the weight in your Stash Box.

If you have lots of Power Armor pieces that you want to turn in for Scrip, then it makes sense to store them on Power Armor Chassis. Each Power Armor Chassis weighs 10 lbs. Most Power Armor pieces weigh at least 10 lbs each. It's always worth keeping a couple of chassis and using them to store any Scrip Power Armor Pieces that you may have on them. This can reduce your Stash Weight by more than 40 lbs per Power Armor set. You can also rename Power Armor Chassis to make it easier to identify which ones are Scrip and which ones aren't.
